What Is Onpattro?  

Onpattro, generically known as patisiran, is a prescription infusion medication used to treat the polyneuropathy in patients suffering from hereditary ATTR amyloidosis. 

How Onpattro Works  

Patients with hereditary ATTR amyloidosis have a genetic variant causing a protein called transthyretin (TTR) to form clusters called amyloid deposits. Onpattro works by decreasing the amount of the TTR protein.
