Renflexis Infusion Therapy

See why thousands of patients choose our centers as their preferred destination for ongoing care, including Renflexis infusion treatments.

Renflexis is a biologic therapy that is indicated to treat:

What Is Renflexis?

Renflexis (infliximab-abda) is a prescription medication administered for patients in all IV LEAGUE INFUSION SERVICES centers via IV infusion.

Renflexis is a biosimilar of Remicade. A biosimilar is a biologic therapy that has been approved and licensed by the FDA and has shown to have no clinically meaningful difference from an existing therapy, known as the “reference product.”

How Renflexis Works

With certain health conditions, the immune system can overproduce a certain protein called tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha). Having too much TNF-alpha plays a role in the inflammation leading to some symptoms. Renflexis works by blocking the TNF-alpha actions and helps stop the underlying cause of inflammation.

What Is Renflexis Used For?

Doctors order infliximab-abda to treat several medical conditions.

Renflexis treats:

Renflexis Infusion Dosage and Administration

Patients receive infliximab-abda intravenously. Treatment time for a Renflexis infusion at a medical clinic like IV LEAGUE INFUSION SERVICES usually lasts around 2 hours.

Dosage and Frequency

Before receiving their first intravenous infusion of infliximab-abda, the ordering physician determines the patient’s dose. This dose depends on the patient’s weight as well as the severity of the condition for which he or she is receiving treatment.

Renflexis is administered via infusion in three starting doses within the first six weeks of your treatment. After the initial six weeks, patients will receive infusions once every six-eight weeks or every four weeks for some RA patients.

Administering Renflexis via IV Infusion

  1. The nurse prepares the patient’s arm by using rubbing alcohol to sterilize the location that is being used to insert the IV needle.
  2. Following needle insertion, the IV line is held in place with tape.
  3. The nurse attaches the patient’s IV line to the line coming down from the bag of medication.

Every half-an-hour, the patient’s nurse takes his or her vitals.
